How does TL1 adjust automatically if there is no app?

Primitive TL1 has a built-in clock that you set to your local time.

After that, it delivers a consistent, ideal light cycle — energizing mornings, calming evenings — regardless of what's happening outside.

How long until I see benefits?

Many of the benefits are immediate. Research at Harvard Medical School and Seoul National University on TL1's LED technology showed improved alertness, focus, and cognitive performance during exposure.

Sleep improvements tend to develop over one to two weeks as your body's rhythm resets—like adjusting to more natural light in your daily routine.

What if my schedule does not match a normal day?

TL1 works for night owls, shift workers, and non traditional schedules.

You can set TL1 to follow a custom solar cycle aligned to the timeframe that works for you whether your morning starts at 6am or 3pm. TL1 then delivers a biologically appropriate light progression based on that schedule.

My smart lighting (e.g. Philips Hue) already shifts color?

Smart lighting is engineered for aesthetics and apps — not your biology. It typically has harmful blue spikes that disrupt sleep.

TL1 delivers the exact sun-like spectrum your body needs: timed perfectly throughout the day for health, performance, and rest.

Is TL1 different from SAD lamps?

SAD lamps are single-spectrum and uncomfortable to look at.

They're also easy to overuse. Too much exposure can overstimulate you and harm your sleep and health.

TL1 is as simple as the sun: functional, all-day circadian lighting that's beautiful and effortless.

Can I override the automatic settings?

Yes. While the TL1 is designed to run automatically to match the solar day, you have full manual control to adjust brightness and color whenever you need it.

Can I use TL1 with other lights?

Yes. In the morning, TL1 provides precise light for proper circadian activation and won't be affected by other lights.

In the evening, TL1's light is best. For any other lighting, avoid harsh, cool blue overhead light, or use blue light blocking glasses.

Can I use TL1 as a bedside lamp?

TL1 works beautifully in your bedroom. TL1's bright mornings can jumpstart your day as soon as you wake up.

In the evening, TL1 automatically shifts to extra-warm tones that minimize disruptive blue light so you can read, relax, and support natural melatonin before sleep.

How does TL1 handle daylight savings?
